Today I went to the Outpatient Center to get a MRI of my brain. I have been having headaches everyday for about 2 weeks. Just to be on the safe side, Dr. Rich ordered an MRI. I have only ever had a CT Scan. In the waiting room of the Outpatient Center, you can hear the MRI machine. Bang, bang, bang. Its loud and hard to hold still. The scans took about 30 mintues to complete. I asked the tech to turn off the lights before we started. The lights really irritate my headaches.
I was done and ready to leave today at 2:45 pm. At work I got on the computer at 3:45 pm to see if there were results for my tumor markers. I noticed that there was something about the MRI. I opened it. All clear. When Dr. Rich ordered the Tumor Markers, he also ordered a testosterone test. The normal range according to SelectHealth's website is 280 to 1100. I am at 223. :( That leads me believe that it is the low testosterone level causing the headaches. I will be calling Dr. Rich to find out what we need to do for that. Maybe men with low testosterone for whatever reason usually get their testosterone boosted by oral medication or injections.
With the tests starting to show that there isnt cancer spreading, perhaps the RPLND surgery is not for me... now. There is always a possibility that I will have to get the surgery later next year or in years to come. Its either going to be surveillance or chemotherapy. Dr. Rich is going to be the one to decide.
